We provide the highest quality service/repair for Shopsmith headstocks and all other Shopsmith machines. Our mission is to provide this at an affordable price, while taking extreme scrutiny and paying attention to detail with your machine so you can quickly get back to work. We put you at ease with factory tools and expert techniques I have learned over 30+ years.
I have worked with machines for 30+ years with a high aptitude towards mechanical engineering. I started working with woodworking and Shopsmith machines in 1984 and have had put many customers at ease while providing them with knowledge to even fix future issues and prevent repair.
With my 30+ years in Shopsmith experience, building up my knowledge and tools, plus my natural high aptitude for mechanical engineering, I can comfortably say I am the top expert in the field. I use Shopsmith brand parts and sometimes my own selection of brand when appropriate, for example, I use sealed bearings instead of shielded bearings (as provided by the factory) for their dust resistance and lifespan. I am able to offer the most affordable service/repair yet still the highest quality simultaneously.
There is no better way to learn woodworking than from an expert in the field. My 30+ years of experience can be passed down to you through my academy shops.
Shopsmith Repair offers instructions informing you how to ship your headstock. You don’t want to have to deal with any costly issues that will damage your headstock even more.
SHOPSMITH REPAIR SERVICES
SHOPSMITH BRAND KNOWLEDGE
My Shopsmith of vintage 1981 has been in use all these years with no special servicing. The speed control started having some major issues and made it non-operational. I called and arranged to take the headstock in for service which seemed to be something that could be fixed the same day. Since l live a couple of hours away, I was interested in the same day repair. The repair to the speed control was completed as expected but other problems were also found with the unit that required repair including more time to complete the service. The additional service was completed in the same day even though the time went beyond normal business hours which I greatly appreciated given my drive home that evening. My unit is like new and I am very pleased with the service provided. I would recommend the Woodworking Academy for their expertise, reasonable repair costs, and going the extra distance for customer satisfaction. Bravo!
James rebuilt my Shopsmith 510 powerhead and it runs like it came out of the box. I have used it for a few projects so far and very happy with the service and the quality of the work!
Just the top service possible for any Shopsmith machines. Super friendly and informative. Mr. Hopp is interested more in your machine running in optimal condition and your happiness than profit.
